How strong is the stock auto trans(300+ hp)
well i put this post in the wrong section, so ill try this again.
ok, well i bought my girl friend the mustang in my sig. i will be putting the wheels and lowering springs on wednesday.
i work at a known turbo shop(not saying any names, not sure if the administators allow that due to not a paid vendor)
her car is getting turbo'd, something simple to make about 300-350 at the rear wheels. i will also be doing a 8.8 rear end with 3.73's, sct tuner, 39lb injectors, im not sure on what fuel pump(probably a walbro or something)
my question is how will the stock auto hold up? is it something i can fix in the tuning?

Yeah the tranny's are the same internally (different input shaft), and plenty tough. I run up to 325-ish hp with my auto and have had no issues with it, and that's running f/i for two years now with many track runs on it.

thats good to know. im glad i dont have to put 8k into this tranny like i did with my dodge. im guessing with the sct i can adjust how firm it shifts. thats the only complaint i have about the car(besides power) is it shifts very soft.

That can be adjusted through the tune. Be sure to post up pics of the turbo install.
