I'm still trying to figure out if your filter is supposed to be oiled or if its designed to be a DRY filter. If its a DRY filter, washing it would most likely have rendered it unusable IMO.

FYI, Amsoil sells replacement filters in various sizes.

Remove it from the inlet tube (dont loose the screws or crossthread
them going back together with it) and unplug the electrical connector,
remove yourself from the close proximity to your vehicles paint and

Use some cleaner that does not leave a residue.
They make MAF cleaner but some say use brake cleaner.
MAFs are expensive so it warrants using the proper product....
