abuse, not maintaining the fluid levels, bad gasket, there could be any reason.

well, if you've regularly and accuratly maintaned the car then it must just be part failure. sounds like a bad head gasket or maybe even a cracked head.

Sometimes it just happens, unfortunatly if you don't fix it yourself it will probably be quite expensive.

Good luck

Yup that happend to mine too mine was cracked head. I just found a used engine with 4,400 miles on it... cheaper to do that then to replace the head gasket.

Stantheman123,

I see your from Ontario, not sure where abouts though. Check out www.gtamc.com that is a local forum. There was a guy a month or so ago selling a used 4.0 from a mustang with under 10,000kms for like $700-$1000. Also, check out DaSilva Racing (in Pickering) or Steeda in Milton. They might be able to hook you up with a new motor for cheep. I know DaSilva a little while ago also had a 4.0 for really cheap from someone doing a swap. Google them and give them a call, they will be able to help you out!

edit:

I dunno if you want a 3v 4.6 but $1800 includes motor mounts exhaust manifolds, driveshaft. obvsly you'll need a new rear end but just tryin to throw out some suggestions...
