Soooo it doesn't work... says "CD Error" and won't give me my cd's back... radio works fine... everytime I unlock or turn on the car I hear a lot of noise coming out of it... I've looked around but no real fix or repairs... I'm out of warranty... aftermarket time? Or......

 

I'd take it back to the dealer so you could get your cd's back.

Ericyo, there are a couple special tools you need. AFTER you take the radio out....

screwdriver and a hammer

 

Take it out and unscrew the casing to retrieve the cds. Mine is very temperamental with cds and mp3 cds. My friend jsut gave me his old Alpine so I'm gonna plug it in and use that till I have enough for a touchscreen. I had an Alpine in my first Passat and installed one in my girlfriends Mustang. I love them to death as a single din unit but def go Pioneer AVIC for double din touch!
