Yep, thats what you want to do. I researched online for a good shop in my area to do the work, but what I found was the only online recommendation I could find was a shop too far away and that also appeared to be changing owners.. so I started calling around and found another shop.

But I would also suggest what I didn't do - don't just call them, go and talk to them too, that way you can gauge the shop's knowledge and people in person and also look at their shop. Of course some of the best mechanics work in a place that looks like hell, but you get my point. It all worked out for me as when I got to the shop, I found out the owner is a great guy and has a good crew.

I would recommend saving and getting the Tlok done at the same time. It will end up being more cost effective for you in the end. You won't have to pay for labor twice that way. Just make sure that you get a whine free guarantee from who ever installs it.

Chief, I realize you are trying to save money BUT installing 4.10 gears without T-lok is not the way to do it. Whatever money you spend on the gear installation you will have to re spend 100% to install the T-lok unit. And you will need T-lok if your going 4.10s. You can get a Ford T-lok for $200.-$250.00 at many places online. Please do yourself a favor and do these 2 mods at the same time! You will also have to have the speedometer reset for the new gear ratio. That requires a tuner or take it to a Ford dealer. With 4.10 gears, T-lok and a good 93 octane tune your Mustang V6 will fly! Good Luck!

Do you know what CAI you are going with? Are you getting a tune along with it?

I got the C&L cai. and tunes from bama 87per. and the 93per. 93torq. I have not tried the 93 tunes yet. But I can say I would get the T-lok and gears!

Thanks for the info guys. I went a head and ordered the Ford Racing 4.10 gears and the T-Loc. I'm having a shop near me do it that does everything performance wise to cars. Install price is about 400 bucks, which is about 100 more than some other places, but these guys really know their stuff. I'll have the stuff by Monday and hope to get them installed on Tuesday!

Also, I have a Tuner so I can reset my ECU with the proper gear ratio so my speedo is right after the install.

Will do! I'm pretty sure I'm going to like it a lot. It will be a completely different driving experience from what I've been told.
