Default Whine at 60

Ok so from this thread I take it that everyone else who had problems had a whine noise around 60 while on the throttle just a bit. Mine is doing that but only around 60. If it is any higher or lower its fine. I've also noticed a little lag or play from a downshift to the time it 'catches' and fully engages. Since I bought the car, I also noticed that if you back off the throttle then tap it lightly, you get a thunk from the drivetrain. I've always suspected wear or play in the chunk but at 55K miles you'd think there wouldn't be. I'm thinking of replacing the chunk with a T-Lok and doing all the bearings while I'm in there.

I've had a whine....not a bad one, but noticeable when it's quiet lol
I think it's my pinion angle that's causing it though.....since i'm lowered about 1.6 ish inches out back (prokit no iso's)
I plan to eventually get an adj. UCA.....until then, if it breaks then it's on my warranty lol

Never had any issues with whine but, I think if I did I'd replace it with an 8.8 with some 3.73s...If you're gonna pay out of pocket might as well make it something worthwhile

They probably know their limits or have not
had any luck replacing gears so they took

run shop time wise...

Yes, noticed some gear whine on the 2008 V6. It whines when under load but when you let off the throttle the noise stops. Had it to the dealer and they changed rear end fluid, found no metal. Only recently bought this car so have no idea how long the problem has been there. Have not been out on the highway since having it to the dealer. Will have to bring it to their attention again if it persists. Neither the 2006 or 2007 have any noise from the rear end.

Here is a question-Is the rear axle assembly from a GT a direct bolt in replacement for the smaller V6 unit?

Yep its supposed to be, according to Newtakeoff.com and their project car. You will need the flange though if you do the swap.
Mine makes a whine noise around 60 while you are just on the throttle a bit. Any higher it goes away. I'm planning on doing a swap to a T-Lok in the future complete with all the bearings and new gears so hopefully I can get rid of the noise and improve traction. I don't need to go to a GT axle because I'm not supercharging the engine.

Yes, direct bolt in. Almost. Get one with the proper pinion flange (the driveshaft ends are different on a v6 vs. v8).
