i just got my sct x3 tuner in the mail i bought it off ebay used. its still "married" to the guys vehicle how can i unlock it is there any way besides sending it in and having to pay 150 bucks thats redicoulous

 

There's no way that I know to unlock it on your own. THAT'S why you always verify if it's unlocked before you buy.

Wow... So that guy sold you a tuner that was locked onto his vehicle? Basically uploaded a tune onto his car and sold it to you. Thats dirty!

I sold my locked one but made it very clear it was locked and would have to be sent in and unlocked for $150. So the buyer was aware of that.

 

Why sell a locked tuner? Did you just want the tune on your car and get rid of the tuner or what?

 

yeah he put no returns on it too. u think if i go through ebay theyll refund me cuz the ******* wont reply to my emails when i asked him to be a nice guy and send me a refund, he said he didnt know it was locked.

 

You can send it in to SCT and for $50 they should unlock it for you. Call their customer service people.

 

You should see if you can dispute it through paypal. Thats crap that hes acting like he didn't know it was locked.

 

Ok, is there any way to know if it is locked before buying? Does it say it on screen? Also, does the X3 comes with preloaded tunes? I also was thinking about buying a used one and the seller says it is unlocked but I want to make sure before buying it.
