there isnt a chip for our cars, its a ecu reflash. and for under grand your only choice is nitrous.

Right off the bat, a Cold Air Intake with a good tune (Brenspeed or American Muscle) is probably the best bang for the buck. ~$520-$600 A good tune completely wakes the car up

Getting to 300 crank hp (let alone whp) for under $1,000 is probably not gonna happen unless you use a 100 shot of nitrous, as said above. Honestly, I find hp numbers irrelevant. You could have 1,000 hp but if you can't put it down to the track/road, it's pointless. For example, 4.10 gears with t-lok (posi) will help the car pull a lot harder and helps traction but doesn't really show on a dyno/in hp numbers

Congrats on the new car

The only way you could probably get 300hp under $1000 is with one of those $600 eBay turbo kits.... I'm only kidding but they do exist. :|

What about those $30 chips on eBay that claim like +250hp and 30mpg?

But really, performance comes at a price

ya, theres always things to help make your care FEEL faster, without adding extra Hp. things like a new rear end with 4.10 gears really helps you spin the tires alot faster, and a lightweight driveshaft really helps you feel more power as well. by loseing weight in the drivetrain you can lessen the rotating mass which gets parts moving easier. but as for 300 hp for less then a 1k, not gunna happen. also, our 4.0's are rated at 210 at the crank, we really only have about 180-190 at the wheels.

I hear most often 5-Speeds are about 180rwhp, Autos 164rwhp according to most sites!
