Thoughts for FI
I have 08 stang v6 MT and have CAI/tuner.
Recently I upgraded from 17" bullit to 20" stagged bullit,
and kinda feel less torque.
And now I want to have little extra horses.
Q1. Is there any bolt on upgrade on engine to give extra horses?
I prefer not to have any exhaust due to the noise.
(I'm running single GT swap and satisfied.)
I heard underdrive pulleys and etc, but the gain really noticeable?
What about intake manifold(if there's any)??
Q2. FI option.
A. Easiest to install.
From my search, both turbo and S/C are popular for this stang, but
prolly I cannot afford professional installation, but install myself,
I would like to have easiest to install option.
Turbos will require oil lines and need to swap exhaust manifold, as well as
intake one to mount turbo and swap injectors, so forget the turbo.
(Even for S/C, I don't want tap my oil pan....)
For supercharger setup, I think root type will be little easier to install
because I'll have to remove intake manifold anyway for injectors.
Also, it should be fairly easy to go back to stock in case of servicing or trade the ride.
My goal is two guys install in a day or around 8 hours.
B. Money Money.
I do not have tons of money, so cost of kit is big issue for me.
Also, gas mileage is also important.
Who sells cheap? and how bad mpg after install??
(I'm in San Antonio area. How much professional installation will (roughly) be??)
C. Power.
For now, I don't really care about maximum gain. Neither track time.
I just want my ride thrust well with whinnin noise from charger.
I think I'll satisfy with pre-canned tune as well.
Throw me your thoughts.

OK, here are series of stupid questions.
1. is there any way to put oem s/c from other mustang, like 07-10 saleen/gt500/etc on v6?????
2. for tuner kits, can I order any brand fuel injectors as long as they exceed certain number in lb??
3. do I really have to swap fuel injectors??
4. The link above mentioned tuner is included, but no tune.
How can I get a tune? Local dyno is not an option for me, because I have no method to
bring my ride to the shop after the installation

1. Yes, anything is possible with enough money. However, this is not really a feasible option if your trying to be at all practical. You mentioned ease of install was important to you, so it would be best to go with a tested and proven kit.
2. A complete xcharger kit will include the proper injectors. I believe they use 39# cobra injectors, they are blue. You can use any injectors that you want, but those are the easiest to find and most economical.
3. Yes you will have to swap injectors for any FI application, depending on what you decide to go with you might have to upgrade the fuel pump as well.
4. You can get in contact with any reputable mustang tuner and they should be able to provide you with an email tune to get you to a dyno. This question would be one that you might want to take up with dave at EE (explorerexpress).

I'm reading instruction for Vortech kit.
It looks quite easy to install too.
In some point, it looks easier than x-charger.
(Vortech V1, and V2 requires tapping oil line, but V3 has sealed lube, so it won't need it.I like that.)
Half of the instruction is for intercooler installation, and I won't really need that.
Overall, I kinda like Vortech kit. It's little cheaper than x-charger and seemed fairly easy to install/uninstall.
The web site says it will make 290 horses. Is it at crank or at wheel??
Have anyone have experience with it or heard good/bad things about it??
And ABQ, I really appreciate your input. You're totally awesome.
However, I have to give you even stupider questions.
1. In Vortech instruction, it didn't mention to loose fuel pressure before changing injectors.
Is it ok to do that?
2. Obviously, the kit requires larger injectors.
But when I decided to go back to stock, or sell the kit,
is it safe to drive stock vehicle or CAI/custom tune with those injectors??
(So when I sell it, I can just tell buyer to get new set of injectors)
(I think changing injector will take about 2 hours.)

me and my buddy installed my Vortech inabout 6 hrs ( non intercooed version ) you don't need to remove the intake to install the injectors . I bought my new v-3 for 3200. I'm very happy with it , however . you'll need a intercooler to step up the performance , I went with an air to air that I got off e-bay for 200 , but u can't go wrong with the x , if that s what u choose
or experienced ones??
I didn't know I don't have to remove intake manifold to change injectors.
what about fuel pressure??
I don't wanna hassle with removing bumper for intercooler install....for now...
I more like x charger by its look, but theres about 100$ in difference.
I might go for vortech...
anyway, thanks a lot for sharing with me.
