2010 gt500 wheel install
Hi!
I was able to buy original 2010 gt500 wheels for my car; but I have several questions hope you guys can answer them:
1 The wheels are 18s from the gt500 convertible; do I need an spacer for the front wheels?
2 the original gt500 comes with a different TPMS than my car (2008 stock v6)
the gt500 uses a valve sensor; can I use the same type of sensor on my car or do I need to buy the valve TPMS sensors?
3 Is it a good idea to reuse the sensors I already have? I still want to keep one of the wheels to use as a spare since it would look way better than the tiny spare tire the car has.
4 The gt500 uses staggered wheels; bigger at the back; should I mimic the same set up?
5 Which brand of tires is the best; I don't race or drive on snow; the car is a daily driver; I also heard that the tyres used on the gt500 don't last more than 5000 miles
here is the link of the wheels if there is anyone interested on the same set up!

I was able to buy original 2010 gt500 wheels for my car; but I have several questions hope you guys can answer them:
1 The wheels are 18s from the gt500 convertible; do I need an spacer for the front wheels? no spacer is needed
2 the original gt500 comes with a different TPMS than my car (2008 stock v6)
the gt500 uses a valve sensor; can I use the same type of sensor on my car or do I need to buy the valve TPMS sensors? you will need to use the same type of sensor as the newer valve stem style will not work
3 Is it a good idea to reuse the sensors I already have? I still want to keep one of the wheels to use as a spare since it would look way better than the tiny spare tire the car has. it is cheapest to just resuse your sensors, but you will need to buy new bands as the OEM ones are not reuseable. I used the bands from American Muscle, which cost $29/pair
4 The gt500 uses staggered wheels; bigger at the back; should I mimic the same set up? I assume you mean staggered tires and not wheels... but your tire sizing comes down personal preference. I am installing the same wheels and using the same staggered tires that come stock on the GT500 (Goodyear Supercar F1s with 255/45 front and 285/40 rear
5 Which brand of tires is the best; I don't race or drive on snow; the car is a daily driver; I also heard that the tyres used on the gt500 don't last more than 5000 miles not sure where you heard that as I have over 3.5K on my F1s and they have very little if any noticeable wear... other than rears of course

http://www.gpfracing.com/scripts/pro...idproduct=1683 there are better deals out there as mine were $137/each from Tousley

+1 what Doogie65 said above.
To be honest, I don't care for the look of the '10 GT500 wheel on an '05-09' S197. I have takeoff '07 GT500's on my GT and think they add to the retro look. But that's just my opinion.
I'm running 275's all around. If I had to do it again it would be 285's in back, 255's in front. As far as brand, take your pic. I suggest using the survey info from sites like tirerack.com to help you decide. A lot depends on your location, road conditions, driving style, etc.. There is no "best" except what's BEST for YOU...

Yes and No. Rim width plays a factor in this. this

Thank you guys, yeah I love them; the other wheels that I wanted were the 10 spoke that come with the mustang premium but my walled could not take the hit. These cost me less tha the AM replicas what was a pain wast to get them installed at a firestone shop; they made me run arround looking for a longer flange; whitout checking if the wheel would fit first; it also took them for ever to put them on my car; at least I learned where not to get tires next time.
