Default LongTubes with Current System Advice:

Hey guys. I did search this first but could not find something they really answered my question.

I have a 2005 V6 and I want to get some Pacesetter long tubes. My current setup is:
Stock Cats >
Pypes X Pipe >
Pypes Mid Pipes >
FRPP GTAs

My question is, if I get the long tubes (I know the cats will be gone), but will they meet up to the X-Pipe WITHOUT having to weld extra pipe length in or cut extra pieces off. Thanks for the help guys!

Actually, he was being helpful because he is right, they do sound like crap. A longtube setup in our cars is not that beneficial, maybe with a F/I setup but its not necessary and gains won't be high. If you really want headers you can get some shorties but don't expect much gains, maybe 2-3 rwhp and some tone change.

Its like someone putting Lamborghini doors on their mustang, telling someone not to do it is helpful because it is a huge mistake.

As far as I know, there will be extra welding required to get long tubes to fit, and I think its going to need an extra pipe in since the cats are going to be gone. Don't think long tubes are as long as normal headers + the whole length of the catalytic converter system.

Cool. That was helpful. Thanks. And no... If some asks "Should I put Lambo doors on" then that is different. I asked "would something work?" and not "should I put these on". Besides, each person has different taste in what he or she thinks looks and/or sounds good.

You would be best served if you call pacesetter and ask them. All long tube headers are not the same length. I would imagine you will have to do some fitting as you are mixing different brands. I have MAC Lt's, MAC off road pipes and a MAC prochamber, stock GT over the axle pipes and JBA mufflers. I do not care for the sound between 2300-3k, otherwise its good.

I gave them a call a while back and they were not too sure. Funny but whatever. Lol
