i have the true dual exhaust conversion with GT take offs. sounds awesome. some people want them obnoxiously louder, but that comes with drone. i have an x pipe exhaust system and mid pipes from PYPES performance exhaust, then gt take off mufflers at newtakeoff.com

video links to youtube are on my signature.

and after you put about 4-6 thousand miles on your car with these duals it sounds even better!

Most of it is sound and looks, but you can free up a couple hp. Loudness depends on what set-up you go with, if you keep the cats etc. I definitely recommend keeping the cats as it will sound like schit otherwise.

I've heard many different set-ups in person, and on youtube and, despite being biased, I think a set of GT take-offs sound the best. A lot of the aftermarket exhausts for the 6 are aggressive, and start to sound raspy in the higher rpms. I LOVE how mine sounds at idle and driving around town

I personally don't really see the point in spending hundreds and hundreds on a name-brand kit, I would suggest finding a custom exhaust shop and having them work with you. Pick out an axelback(s) and then have them fab up an H or X pipe

Yes, the first item--Listed for $299.99--is what I have except with 2010 GT mufflers b/c my car is obviously not an 05-09. haha.

That kit is all you need. And if for some reason you don't like the sound, which i doubt, or if you want to get even louder, any 05-09 mustang GT axleback Mufflers will fit on the dual exhaust setup.

borla stingers sound SO much more manly than any flowmaster ive ever heard. they might be much more expensive, but if youre going to put a couple hundred dollars into something, i want to come out feeling like a total boss

on v8's yeah, on 6's they don't deepen the tone as much as flows imo

I really like the mac mufflers. They sound pretty darn good on a V6.

The Mac setup sounds great, as does the GT takeoffs and Borla, but I decided to go the cost effective(translation:cheap) route and just replace the muffler with a Flowmaster American Thunder. That way I can dump some more funds into other appearence items(already ordered a lower/upper billet grille combo). Then later I can always upgrade the exhaust, since the Flowmaster was only $170 I would not be to upset to use it for a year or two then replace.

I used to run the single Flowmaster AT - great sounding exhaust note but started rusting about 9-10 months after installation. Plus it never fit right and vibrated which I hated. Switched to duals with Borla Stingers...the extra cost is the quality you're paying for in both material and fitment! Yes they are worth it.

My 2 cents is if you're going for cheap, nothing wrong with that, get a set of GT takeoffs and just use the passenger side until you go duals and then you can use the other one.
