Ok well this is a older problem and i just kinda put it on hold but thought id get some information about it. 2006 ford mustang v6 automatic 86k

I'd say at least 2 months ago my car was having problems getting into gear, so bad it would sometimes take me 10-15mins to get it into drive which was annoying. Then a month ago i looked into a hanes car manual and went to the automatic transmission section and read about the btsi. So i removed the little cap and pushed the button down, and now my key is stuck and my shifter can move freely, which i dont mind its just my key has been stuck in my ignition for a month now. Oh also need to add in it was maybe a day or two after i pushed the button that the key got stuck.

Any ideas as to how this could happen. Maybe just a coincidence or related?
