K&N cold air intake vs Drop in k&n filter
Ford Racing has various performance packages. I purchased for my 2010 V6 the package that consisted of dual exhausts, drop in K&N panel filter, and reprogramming of the computer to use 91 octane fuel. This setup if installed by the Ford dealer keeps my warranty intact. They put the exhausts on and the K&N filter but not the reprogram of the computer because he hadn't ordered the programmer. The dual exhaust change and filter solved the problem i was having with the car stumbling starting out in first gear. I go in tomorrow to have the new computer software installed. Ford claims the dual exhausts, drop in filter and computer reprogram increase the horse power by 12 hp. The drop in panel filter flows 441cfm as opposed to the stock paper filter flowing 319 cfm. This 441 cfm flow is within the range of the stock mass flow meter. Based on my experience i would think a K&N drop in filter would be worth while even without any other modifications.

Unless those parts were installed at the time of vehicle delivery (before you took possesion of the car) the warranty is 12mo/12K miles. Not the OEM 36mo/36K
Ford tunes are extremly conservative but I like the fit/finish of the bullitt intake so I got it from American Muscle so I could take advantage of their tunes. WAY better than stock.
Ford OEM claims an extra 15 Flywheel HP (12rwhp) and 5 Flywheel TQ (almost zero at teh wheels) with the bullitt intake.
American Muscle is ~17 RWHP (that's 20 Flywheel) and I believe 14 RWTQ with the identical intake and their tune.
Ford also doesn't do anything for the soft tranny shifts in the Auto. AM, night and day. I can spin the tires through first and partway into second if I am on it off the line. Once or twice it's chirped hitting 3rd.
No Brainer for me.
Probably not a whole lot. These guys are right I would save your money and buy a CAI and tuner combo. the Axle-back is probably just more for sound anyway. I would say maybe 5rwhp or so maybe? thats a ballpark for the idea your having. I would save your money and buy something worthwhile.
Majority of the performace gain comes from the custom tune. ;-)

Kevin may be a bit optimistic but he's pretty close. I tend to be pesimistic and think 10-15 with just a tune so somewhere in between?
Axlebacks or any other exhaust work after the Y or H pipe is for exhaust note only.

All stand alone CAIs do is add a nice WOT growl coming from the front grill...
And cleaner fitered air but no hidden HPs are unleashed...
Tunes add HP but also decrease the inherent DriveByWire throttle lag
and firmer shifts on Auotmatic stangs...

I know this is an OLD post but, there are some interesting FACTS on tunes and cai's dyno backed up. 7 hp and 6 pounds of tq just by running 93 octane. add jlt cold air with 93 octane no tune it picked up 27 pounds of torque and 10-11 hp. it goes on to tuned as well......
