Exclamation Possible Seized Engine. Need Help

I own a 2005 Mustang V6 4.0
I was driving home about 60 when my engine died on me. I tried to start it back up but it wont turn over. I got it towed home and than i tried to start it again. it makes the same noise. As if it is trying to start. The belt moves very slow. Engine sounds dry noise when trying. The oil is overdue for a change. The level is good just dirty. What could i do trouble shoot? I have limited knowledge with engines and can use all help.

When you checked the oil and it is "dirty" is it just dark or is it milky looking?

Open the radiator overflow and take a look at the coolant, any oil or anything in that?

Was it making any noises before it stopped? If so what did it sound like? Have you had any lights on the dash like "check engine" or anything?

I'm doubting the engine would seize over dirty oil, unless you're like SEVERELY over due for an oil change. I'm not sure what would be the problem, but I personally wouldn't be thinking seized.

What's the condition of your battery? A seized engine shouldn't turn, period. You could have had your alternator fail and the engine would run off the battery until it lost enough power to maintain spark. At that point, it would probably be barely enough to crank the engine. And the stock battery and alternator are iffy at best anyway.

I'd go with the battery/alternator problem.

When my battery bit the dust it would take a bit to start up..it'd chug and lug. the electricals would flash and it would change my fuel gauge...
does it start fine when you get a jump?

Get someone to give you a jump. if it starts up just fine your problem lies in the alternator/battery.

If not, i have no idea.

WHen i checked the oil it was dark. Did not appear milky looking.

The radiator overflow did not have anything out of the ordinary. It was low on coolant.

I did not have any check engine lights on at anytime.

when my car just stopped it didnt make any noises at all it just died but before that i was in fourth gear and i could hear a clacking sound everytime i pressed on the accelerator...and as far as any lights there hasnt been any

the battery is about a year old maybe longer...ill try to jump it in the morning...

i thought it was seized due to some guy that lives in my apartment complex hearing me try to turn my engine over and he came up to me saying oh that engine is def seized your SOL...

ive seen some wayyy over due oil changes on a 4.0 talking 20k miles.. low oil, motor kept going. they usually wont seize unless you drain the oil out, or only change the oil every 50k miles..
