Default Auto trans slipping

soooo, I have a 10 V6, completely stock and for some reason my trans has begun to slip. it only has 46K miles on it and most of those are highway miles...anyone else run across this problem? also, going down the road the other day, I had to come to an abrupt stop, the car down shifted AFTER i stopped and shut off...any ideas? I'm taking it to ford on Monday because it's still covered under warranty but I want to generally know what's going on so the dealership doesn't try to punk me and tell me it's all in my head.

Sounds like low fluid - unusual in so few miles though, have you noticed any fluid leak under the car? Since it is after Monday, what did the dealer say?

What you described above is a binding issue, not a slip. A slipping tranny would be where your Engine RPM goes up but the car goes nowhere or doesn't accelerate.

Low fluid level is the first thing that comes to mind on a binding tranny. Could also be a band issue.

Have you tried manual shifting to see if the problem persists? If it doesn't then I would guess the tranny control module could be flaking out. If it does then i'm guessing an internal issue.
