If i were to put cams and cylinder heads on my 6 would it still stay 50 state legal?

Also how much horsepower would I gain?

Cam work on a sixxer is hard to find.
There is a site that sells some, but I'm sure you'd only see an increase of 30 or so horses..

Now if you could pick up some custom head and cam work, I'm sure you could see more...but you'd also be paying way more.


Also, yes, I'm almost positive they are 50 state legal.

Yeah, cams will be $2K and will net an increase of 25hp. Now on a car that only makes 180whp, 25 extra is pretty big. Add heads for another 20, LTs onto that for another 15, forged internals for good measure, and you will have sunk 6K into your engine to produce around 270hp, while you could have purchased a 4.6 and transmission for 4K and installed it for another 3.

Or put a 5.0 in it for 7-8 grand,..and some extra parts + install.

Will definitely be doing this in a couple years..maybe sooner!
