Having some issues with the coil/wires, not sure which, but I have a rough idle and sometime it dies. I witnessed arc light coming from the wires to the coil pack and figured it was loose connection. I reconnected all the wires and inspected them to look for corrosion. There was none. I even put some dialectic lube to keep the voltage from bleeding out. Still the same issue. I am sure its the coil pack (which is a Screamin Demon I have had on there for about 3 years). Just looking for some others input before buying a new coil/wires. Oh, and I get the misfire codes as well.

 

Sounds like another screamin demon bites the dust... If you have your stock one try that out.

+1 what Redfire says. Opt for a stocker. Be sure to check your plugs when done, too, as they may need replacing or regapping.

@Redfire: So if you've a stocker layin' around, what are you running? Just curious. I've got my stock unit on there and after reading the OP just may re-consider keeping it that way unless alternatives are available.

 

I replaced the wires and noticed an improvement but then the car went right back to doing the same things. Then a few days later it wouldn't even start, but waited a day and started right up. So it is more then likely the coil pack.

 

Sounds like it. You'll notice this more on damp... and especially COLD and damp days. In fact... pretty much every time I ever had a coil failure.... was in a farking snowstorm.

 

I really don't know what the attraction is to aftermarket COPs. They don't add any performance unless MAYBE you're FI and they're known for having issues. Go back to OE COPs.
