Throttle Body
Im looking for a lil more hp out of my pony and was looking at throttle bodys. Does any1 have or have any idea how much hp the 1 from americanmuscle.com gives u? or does any1 have a place i can get a really good 1?
From what I have read, an aftermarket throttle body will not do much for a stock engine and is not worth the money. I've also read several people that experienced issues and throwing codes with the after market TB. However, the after market TB can be beneficial for those that have superchargers, turbo's and etc.
Do you currently have a CAI and custom tunes?
This will add instant HP performance gain. =-)

No gain from an aftermarket TB unless you're FI or heavily modded internally. Your biggest bang without going FI or Nitrous or cams w/LT's is a CAI & custom tune.
This is an informative page on throttle bodies

This is definitely an on going debate, weather or not throttle body's add power? They definitely do add power and throttle response however it really depends on your plans for the car. A Throttle Body is a platform modification, if you plan on going Supercharged, Turbo or Nitrous then its a must have IMO. If your plans are just to go bolt ons then the gains wont be as great, probably in the 10-12RWHP(Depending on your make, model and supporting modifications) which is still impressive!
I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions!

Dan, I love AM, too, but I'm with TRexGAWD. There may be a gain of single digit RWHP and even then, below the butt dyno threshold of about 4-5 RWHP. But if you consider the pains that a large % of people have had with aftermarket TB's plus NOT having plans for future mods that can take advantage of a higher flow rate, there are other mods more worth the money.
