Actually, with my CAI/Tune I got a while back I've noticed a good 1-2 mpg increase. Granted, this was with the lower end tune, and only when I wasn't mashing the throttle. But those are all situational variables, if you just look at driving around town, without the tune/cai I got about 16 mpg putting around, with it I hand calc'd about 18-19 on a tank of unleaded.

Not saying that higher end mods (FI, gears) won't decrease OP's mpg, but sometimes you really can have your cake and eat it too.

OP I would stay away from the TB, as nuke said, many report problems with idle down the road due to the BBK, and such. If you already have a tune/cai I would recommend you save for some LCAs and maybe a lowering to get rid of that gut churning stock suspension...

throttle bodies really arent good mods if your searching for HP increases. If you paired that with another supporting bolt on it may, but by it self, IMO there are better ways of spending a couple hundred bucks

Well that's just not true at all.. I have a blown V8, never noticed a change in fuel economy unless I go into boost.. If I drive I just cruise it though, gets pretty good MPG still.. A lot depends on how people drive it, mods increase power so people tend to use that power more often and get crappy mileage..

I'm not doubting you. I'm just surprised that the addition of a blower had no effect on your mileage. As you have noted, my comment was premised on the assumption that people who want to add HP want to put that additional power to use. I stand corrected.

WTF?
Wow that sounds kinda sarcastic...
Was it meant to be?

Just because you do not put the power to use every single time you drive the car does not mean you didn't add the HP in order to put it to use.

No, it was not sarcastic. Two people pointed out that you can increase HP without sacrificing mileage and I agree that my broad generalization was wrong. It all depends on how you choose to drive.

If you do go aftermarket,
keep the OEM stocker in
the trunk with the tools
needed to install it when
the aftermarket leaves
you dead in/at the worst
possible place/moment (anytime).

I'll admit if I stay in boost a lot, then ya my mileage starts to suck a lot faster..
