Default s197 interior cabin light always on 2007 v6 pony package

Since day one my interior lights havent worked. finally i decided to do something about it. heres the catch they are always on unless you unplug the battery . it always stays on so i decided to unplug the wire that connects to the cabin light. i havent used the interior light at all. so i took a look at it and all the cords are normal nothing fried . the button seems to be fine it just doesnt actually turn the interior lights off.

It may be a simple thing. By any chance is the "wheel" that you use to adjust the brightness of the dash display turned all the way up? If so, that is lighting up the interior lights -- and it wouldn't be the first time it happened to someone. I remember someone else having the same issues and that was the problem for them.

Exactly what I thought when I read the OP's thread.

btw water leak didnt doo shiiiitt to my mustang nuthin. Shes sealed up and running. no damage to SJB and my radio works perfectly now. i guess the water was just causing some glitches. Ive pressure water tested the stand and shes dry as a bone on the interior.
Now for some mods
