Default Throttle Body

I'm thinking of changing to a 70mm Throttle Body from the stock one in my 4.0L V6. Is this something that will improve HP and/or gas mileage? Is it worth the money?

Also, what about a Screamin Demon Coil and 8mm spark plug wires?

Oh god, hope Nuke doesnt see this one. As far as the throttle body, no comment. But I upgraded to the Screamin Demon coil pack, Taylor Street Thunder 8mm wires, and also the NGK Iridium plugs. Dont expect any hp or mpg gains for these, I only noticed a little smoother idle and thats pretty much is it. If the coil pack wasnt a christmas gift i would of returned it and got my money back as theres no difference between it and stock and the stock is probably more reliable, but i have had no issues.

Neither the TB nor the coils and wires will do anything (unless you're FI) other than perhaps smoothing out your idle. And aftermarket TB's are known to cause more issues than they're worth. If you haven't already, buy a CAI & custom tune combo from AM or Brenspeed. That's one of the biggest gains you'll get (about 15-20 RWHP on the 4.0) short of going FI. Most other power gainers are nickle and dime HP.

Thanks - May just save money a get some new wheels! Thought Throttle Body would help some. Did the CAI and the tune plus performance axle-back exhaust.

There's no power gain from an axleback or catback.

Besides the CAI and tune, what else can I do to help performance/throttle response?

Thanks!

As far as improving throttle response, the tune will greatly improve that as well as power. After a tune, your power choices on the 4.0 are limited unless you go FI or nitrous, the latter of which I consider more prone to damaging your engine than any other power mod.

Without FI, you can dump a lot of $$ into the 4.0 and still not be anywhere NEAR the GT. After the CAI & tune, most of the power adds/freeups are minor single digit gains each.

+1; a TB wont make any difference. Nor will a TB spacer.
f/i or nitrous are your best power for the money at this point.

Thanks for the information. May just change out fuel filter, spark plugs and wires because the old guy (90 yrs) did not do those prior to my purchase. Car sat for 2 years.
