Default 2013 V6 muffler on a 2005 V6?

I have a friend who just replaced their stock exhaust and gave me their two stock mufflers from a 2013. I currently have a 2005 and was thinking it was a simple bolt on until I saw the new mufflers. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with swapping these out and have any tips before I go engineering this to work. Also, the type of muffler that was on the dual 2013 V6, is it different from the 2005 single exhaust muffler? I'm still gonna plop this guy on there as the tips look ALOT better than what is currently on there, but was just also wonderign if anyone knows of a difference in make or sound of these new mufflers. thanks!

The mounting system for the 2013 is very different from the 2005-10 model years. Can it be done? Yes, but you will have to fabricate several things to make it work and there will be some cutting probably since the end is a ball and socket on the 2013 and just a straight pipe on your car.

Not sure about the difference in the mufflers themselves as far as flow. I do know that the 2013 mufflers are heavy suckers though!

IMO what it would cost to put that one muffler on is not worth it. The flow is going to be about the same maybe a bit more open but not going to make a difference in power and slightly in sound but it may sound more ratty like the 2011+ 6's which sound like poo. just get the pypes dual exhaust conversion kit and install it yourself for 550ish and you will have a real nice sound and a few more ponies

thanks for the advice, I noticed the ball and socket joint and heft on the newer mufflers and figured these may end up costing more for little return. But I figured I'd put it out to the community and what others have done or thought. Thanks angain!

cheap mufflers are the M80 pypes... like 40 bucks a pop, and they sound pretty good and they are meant as a mid muffler system but you can mount them at the rear as well
