Default Coolant Leak

I kept losing very small amounts of coolant and it is coming out between the crankshaft and the front of the oil pan. (See Picture)

I did not know they could leak coolant at this spot, but it is. Is this a very expensive repair? What is causing the leak.

Thanks for the help

Greg

Probably not leaking at that spot - I don't think that there is any water jacket there. So look up top because it is a good chance it is the thermostat housing, with a split, and the "leak" you are seeing is simply running down from up above.

Plastic thermostat housings are notorious for warping and leaking on the V6 mustangs and Ford Escapes. Check in between the upper and lower thermo stat for possible coolant leak evidence.
I replaced mine out about 8 or 9 months ago.
BTW, There are a lot of other members that have experienced the dreaded thermostat housing leak as well.
Good luck and keep us posted!
