Hello, I've had this car since new, and have had no issues, outside of the thermo housing busting leading to a heater core failure, and decimating transmissions.
I'm working on breaking my third transmission; first failure was under warranty @35k miles, then a planetary gear explosion at 100k. First was a ford reman, second was pro rebuild. Now, I'm getting codes as above: P0732, P0735, P0775-->. Second gear wrong ratio, 5th gear wrong ratio, pressure control solenoid B. Not sure if the solenoid pack was replaced during rebuild or not.
My question is, I'm pretty sure my solenoid pack is shot, a fairly easy part to replace, but I'm also concerned about the servo. I'm considering fixing both, and was interested in input. I know that one servo serves both 2nd & 5th, should I just do both servos? Is it possible to kick the P0775 low pressure code from a bad servo? If so, the shift pack may not be bad, that's why I ask.
I have a Roush cai and diable predator tuner, running premium fuel and firm shift tune on the car, does that require any extra beefing up in the trans?

the servo bore wears on these units causing them to not apply correctly, this requires either a case repair or replacement. me i would buy a quality reman with a good warranty. these trans are junk, and a good used trans is almost impossible to come by. i have personally seen 4 used trans replaced in 1 car before we got a good unit.

Thanks, that's about where I'm at, this will be the end of the 3rd trans in this car. I'm a former master tech, going to repair on my own ( no way to guarantee that a reman won't go the same way) if I sleeve the servos myself I hope it'll be the end of this mess.

It's only been 20k since the rebuild, can't believe he won't budge on helping me out, wants to do a full rebuild, again, at $2000. Screw that, I'll clean up my own mess now... I just hate doing auto trans work.

i would say all the blame lands on the rebuilder, he should have check for servo bore wear and either sleeved the case, or told you that the case was junk. usually this case wear issue is only seen on high mileage trasmissions, so not really a ford design problem, as most of the case issues ive seen have been on 150000 mile or greater vehicles, its the same trans that they run in that vintage of explorer/sport trac. at the dealer level we just comdemn the trans, due mostly in part to the great warranty that comes with a ford reman- 3 years unlimited miles, as opposed to a repair which only covers 2 years on only the parts replaced, so if that planet that was reused bc it was good at the time failes 6 months later the customer would have to pay all over again.
