i have a 4.0 2007 v6 mustang, my mustang has a flow master exhaust on it so i have one exhaust. would PACESETTER BLACK LONG TUBE HEADERS from american muscle fit on my car or not because i have only one exhaust, and how many would i need to buy. if you have any better suggestions for headers long or short let me know, thanks.

these will fit http://www.americanmuscle.com/pacese...ck-0510v6.html
but you would need to either add the pacesetter y-pipe or you could go true duel with a H OR X pipe.

Hey Carter - It's looking like MrMike beat me here by a mile but he's right on the money. If you're going to be looking to install a set of these headers then you're 100% going to need the Pacesetter OffRoad Y-Pipe Think of that being as an adapter to make them work.

Because it's "Off-Road" you're going to lose your catalytic-coverters so it's a good idea to make sure with somewhere that does inspections that you're able to get away without the cats.

Doing this (Long Tubes + Y-Pipe) is going to make the car a lot more raspy. If you use both into your factory single exhaust/outlet it will likely eat up a lot of that feedback "snap, crackle, pop" but if you're going to use a different axle-back or Catback Conversion I would pay attention to the style of axle-back/Cat-back you're picking.

There's a lot of styles out there like chambered and muffler deletes that will alter the sound over all.

Let me know if you have any other questions and I hope this helps!

Alex

If you are wanting to save a bit of money, I would go with a set of shorty headers. They will bolt up to your existing exhaust and you can decide later on if you want to convert to dual exhaust.

although it is doubtful you would ever get hit with any type of inspection if it does happen the fine for not having catalytic converters is about $2500. Personally for the minuscule power it gets you it isn't worth the crappy exhaust tone nor the chance of being fined.

Personally I'd never put headers on another car. You'll gain upper RPM horsepower no doubt. BUT you'll lose low end torque. Depends on what you're trying to get, I guess.
