Default cat delete??

I have a 2005 4.0 v6 that I did a muffler delete which I think sounds pretty nice and I've had quite a couple of people tell me they thought it was a v8 but I like the noise and was wondering if taking off the cats would make it sound any different and if it does how much of a difference is there. also would it have any affect on the cars performance I've heard it might loose a couple of HP but I've also heard it shouldn't affect it. I know taking them off would affect emissions but I wanna do it in a way where I can just quickly put them back on whenever I need to take it back to get emissions. any info will help thanks

yeah, I have seen cat delete cars literally blow panties right off. you do know you can't just take them off and back on without major work right? also the tickets, oh the tickets.

There is no performance benefit to removing cats on a 4.0. Many have tried and all found no performance bump, and a terrible exhaust note. Everyone I know who tried it regretted it afterwards

if you delete your cats you will have a check engine light, no hope of passing an emissions test, and will look and sound like an incredible tool. It's one thing to put on a better sounding exhaust. but trying to be as loud as possible doesn't impress anyone but yourself.

yeah, somehow I don't think they will feel the same about a v6 mustang screeming through 1.75" tubes.

so your number Onegoal is to be obnoxiously loud and have your exhaust smell like ***?

I'm sure there are some louder V6 exhausts that sound decent.
But a muffler delete with no cats? I wouldn't think so.
It would be loud for sure, but not like a V8.
No offense intended to anybody, but IMO a V6 MUSTANG should be
as quiet as possible. Dual exhaust absolutely, but quiet duals.
Good luck with your set up.

Yes, it will be loud with no mufflers and cat delete. BUT it will NOT sound good.

That was part of my earlier post. No performance gain to offset a TERRIBLE exhaust note!
