Default Exhaust Question

Hell again everyone,
I was wandering would this exhaust set up work on my 2005 4.0. I was planning on cutting my Y pipe after the cats. I know our exhaust is 2 1/4 and the GT is 2 1/2. Can't this work?. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-S...0/233418673360

It will mount up the same, everything is there. And like you said, you will need a clamp to go from the 2 1/4 to the 2 1/2. There is one already on your car where it transitions because the passenger side muffler and mid pipe are already the same size as the GT.

You can find a template for cutting the V6 bumper for the driver side exit at www.pypesexhaust.com just make sure you print "full size". Very easy to cut that hole.

Yeah, I already have a GT bumper. I was sorta concerned that does the v6 and GT have the same width between the exhaust manifold pipes. I was thinking that the GT might be wider?

You will need the hangers for the left side on the rear for the Muffler also.

Question Suggestions on Exhausts

I've been saving up recently to upgrade my exhaust system and was wanting some input from others. I definitely want to go the cat back dual exhaust route but there are so many to choose from. I want a deeper and more throatier sounding exhaust and all the ones i am finding are higher pitched.

Any recommendations would help!

I used a dual exhaust conversion from Heartthrob exhaust. Bolts onto the factory Y pipe, then splits to a dual exhaust. That with some take-off GT500 mufflers sounds pretty good imho. Definitely a deeper tone at idle and low revs. Initially I tried their chambered muffler, but the drone at 2000rpm/70mph was horrible. No drone with the GT500 mufflers.

Just a note for anyone planning to get the "GT500" mufflers. Up until the 2010 model year the GT500 did not have its own muffler. It used the same mufflers as found on a stock GT with an automatic. So make sure you know what you are buying.
