Timing chain guide question
Has any had there timing chain guides replaced? I had one recently snap and am still waiting on several garages for estimates, just trying to see how complicated and what a fair price would be?
Can't guess at a fair price but the entire motor must be removed from the car to do it, since you can't access the chain on the passenger's side.
This video here is very good and shows how the whole process works for both sides, so you can get an idea what needs to be done and maybe that will help you decide if you're getting a fair price:
It takes a bunch of fancy, single-use special tools, which is a pain for any home mechanic.
