Default Ticking noise from my 04 GT?

when my car is idling or cruising, their is a ticking noist coming from the tranny. when you engage the clutch the noise stops. its not the throw out bearing because if it was the throwout bearing the noise would happen when the clutch is engaged. i took my car to ford and they said that some 99-04 mustangs had this ticking noise, its from the internals of the tranny and is perfectly normal. i went to 2 different dealerships and they said the same thing. does anyone have this problem or have any info on it? i will greatly appreciate any information on it.

I have noticed something similar in my 04 GT...I would not call it a ticking, guess it is more of a whinning noise...stops when i press the clutch...let me know if you find out anything else about it Rice Killer

They are full of crsp.

Is it really a tick or is it a whirr kind of sound? A throwout bearing can be noisy at any time, so you can't rule that out yet.
