Default Might sell my car. What next?

Well I might sell my car to my friend who just found out his 98GT was totaled (the person driving in from of him lost a tire, the tire then proceeded to ram the front of my friend's car!). I am mainly interested in selling it because I want something that will give me more bang for my buck both mod and stock vehicle wise. This is the second Mustang I have owned and I definitely love Mustangs (always have, always will), but maybe it's time to go in a different direction. So if you would be so kind as to give your honest opinion, what do you think I should get that will give me better performance?

I'd like to keep the price under $17k.

Also, I apologize if this is the wrong section for this, but some of it pertains to 4.6's so I figured I'd post here.

I really do like my car don't get me wrong. But I just think performance wise I would get a little bit more out of an LS1, which is what I'm kind of leaning towards...

how bout a price range for a new one? you could get a late 90s early 2000 porsche 911 for around 30k or a boxter for about 20k. thats where i would go. either that or an audi S4, or a TT.

Id be looking to spend 17k or less. If I had 30k to spend you would see a vette or an 03/04 Cobra on the list . And I don't care much for porsches. Never really have.... I'm kinda weird like that...

Buy a truck and a motorcycle. Best of both worlds. Lift/offroad fun and pure speed.

Nah don't need/want a truck.... Never really been into off-roading (even though there is tons of it to do around here). And we get way too much rain to enjoy a motorcycle....

well LS1 are nice as hell dont get me wrong, but cheaper build quality, you probably want a more reliable car, go with a Cobra. SN95 Cobra and slap a KB on it or just get an N/A cobra.

Eh I am done with the SN95 body style. I used to have a 98GT and am tired of that style, never was too crazy about it. I do like the new edge body style however. The thing is with the N/A Cobra, I would be afraid to buy a 99 because of the recall. Anybody know how to tell if they had been fixed under the recall?

a little more power??... umm LS1s are underated at 305HP. they really are 350HP motors, stock form the dyno at about 300-320. with intake a full exhause you will see more power then you would with a PI GT with Full boltons and some awsome cams. i saw a video of Trmin8er, it a LS1 with a magicstick cam, intake and LT, catback and a tune dyno at 509HP... WTF? thats sooo much more then a 4.6 can make. my next car is going to be a LS1.

oh and LS1 F-bodys make more hp to the grond then LS1 Vetts do, because the Vette has IRS and eats some of the hp.
