I took my car to get diagnosed because it was misfiring and the guy said he found some kind of rev-limiter code, but he didn't know what it was. Have any of you had this problem? Car idles fine, only sputters when engines under heavy load around 2-3k rpms in any gear, but first.[:@]

 

Rev limiter is normally when you are slamming on the gas and you hit the rev limiter (mis-timed shift).

 

Give us more details and can you supply us with the code?

 

Oh I know that, but it does it before I hit the limiter.

 

It's like a hesitation when you give it WOT under heavy load.

 

i can't remember the code but my 97 had the same thing, I just cleared it. all it is telling you is you either reached the rev limiter or the top speed of the car.


dunno about your sputtering, how about a tune up?
