Default Forged Bottom End?

I've seen alot of posts talking about a forged bottom end...now not to sound clueless but i have no idea what u mean...lol can anyone clarify this? Thanks in advance for putting up with my lame-ocity.

pistons, rods and crank. the ones in a stock GT are crap. 450RWHP and kiss them goodbye.

Forged is the term of how parts are produced. It is a long story. Basically, Forging is the process of shaping metals by deforming them with a hammer, a press or rollers. Forged parts are characterized by a fibrous crystal structure. In such structures, the strength increases significantly along the lines of the grain boundary flow. Bottom line forged is better than cast, which are in the GT 4.6 engines....well actually the rods are powdered. Hope you get the idea.
