Forged Bottom End?

RE: Forged Bottom End?
Not to thread jack, but... What would be a good build up for a cobra or mach 4v along with cost. As in, what are good pistons and rods, and I think that motor already has a forged crank. And after you have the bottom end, what hp and tq can you reach before other parts begin to fail and which parts are they.
And a somewhat separate thought, is there a better route to take than building up the 4v?
Thanks all for your always valued input.

The next car I do will be all forged. There are some guys here in Tampa where I dyno at that are pulling 1200 rwhp out of there 4.6's. The best part is, they drive these on the street.

RE: Forged Bottom End?
Powdered (miss spelled first time) rods are pretty popular these days with Ford and Chevy. They forge the rod as a single piece from powdered metal, which allows more precise control of size and weight with less machining and less excess mass to be machined off for balancing. The cap is then separated from the rod by a fracturing process, which results in an uneven mating surface due to the grain of the powdered metal. This ensures that upon reassembly, the cap will be perfectly positioned with respect to the rod, compared to the minor misalignments which can occur if the mating surfaces are both flat. That can't be resized.
