A new MAF wont have any benefit on N/A lightly modded cars.
I disagree. Doing the upper intake boltons is beinfical, if nothing else just to get rid of the stock junk MAF. Have you LOOKED into that housing?? Lots of restriction.

BTW, I will sell ya a MAF and K&N filter for 150 bucks, and if your car is a 99-01 1/2 I will throw a inlet pipe in for free.
So much restriction.

?
Not sure if you are being sarcastic or??

I think it made a difference in my car, espcially after I got the LTs and exhaust on it.

I have to disagree on the stock MAF being junk. For an N/A car, the stock MAF is more than enough.

I picked up power with the intake stuff. Dunno what else to say?

I don't think I would have made even the 280 RWHP I did on my **** tune with the stock maf and inlet tube, but I could be wrong.

Well, here is my experience. I did alot of research on the MAF and when I was going through tuning my motor, I decided to experiment with an aftermarket MAF with my built motor. Everything was the same with exception of MAF. For my experiment, I used an 85mm C&L MAF calibrated for 30# injectors. My numbers were within 1 rwhp with the stock MAF on 3 runs with each MAF. My A/F stayed pretty consistent with both MAF's...12.7 with the C&L at WOT and 12.5 with the stock MAF.

Just my .02

I have a 97 mustang gt. I have a proffesional products intake plenum (ported) a 75mm T-body from Accufab. I removed the air silencer and cut the stock air cone gaurd open so its more like a sheild now, and installed a K&N filter (every bit as good as a CIA) I felt the difference. Then I installed mac ceramic L-tubes. Dr. gas off road X pipe w/mil's and 2.5 mandrel system. Thats it as far as engine mods. It has a bunch more power but if I run it hard for a prolonged period of time it will trip a code and it says rich condition. Also yes you can smell it as well as see it on my bumper as the tips are very close and leave the fuel suit there after I run it at WOT. As long as I drive it easy its fine, but I know that It needs something because It runs rich and sometimes will back out on timing. (I can tell by the cluckidy cluck idle it sometimes does) I feel Like Im not getting the full amout of power that I could have. I plan on swapping to a pi intake, gears and cams this summer. I can let murrilo tune it, but its 500$ then 250$ after that for any other retunes on the dyno. I just dont know weather I should spend the money or wait or what?

For an NA car your not pulling enough air for it to go into default, no need to replace.

Thursday or Friday I am stopping by Murillos to get it tuned, I hope they can make it work. I think it has fowled some plugs out already, wich sux cuz they were pretty new. It also runs a little to warm when I get on it. The Check engine is on. The timing is way retarded, rough idle, stinks, and Im mad. I am going to go ahead and let them put it on the dyno and tune this thing in. Its driving me crazy. Well not realy I dont like driving it now at all. LOL
