wow, ford must have sucked even more when they made the sn95's than I thought. every other car on earth made after 1980 has some sort of "low gas" idiot light.

My guess is that it is alteast a couple more gallons... They probably made it seem like you were lower on fuel than you really were for those people who like to push their limits when they are low on gas.
