I've had my 2001 GT with an auto up to around 140 with just K&N air filter. I know what some of you guys mean by the speedo being high and you cant come anywhere close to it. My old cars speedo said 140, but was governed at 109, which sucked.

I still have stock gears and I have hit 138-140 in fourth. 155 is the fastest I have had it and that scared crap out me . If the had been lowered with a nice sleek kit it might have felt more stable.

145 in 4th? hell no. Not on a GT anyways....Cause i think my 4th tops at like 140....but then again, i have never redlined 4th....i have only been that fast a few times, and i shifted into 5th way before redline...and i have had my car past 150...
Not sure of the exact speed cause my speedo stops at 150, but the needle was past the 150 mark...

First off, where the "governor" kicks in is directly related to the speed rating of your tire. Our cars have "Z" rated tires, which I believe are good for over 150mph, so therefore no speed governor, they just run out of steam. I haven't run up my '04, but I did run up the Bullitt to 140, and it was still pulling nicely in 5th.
