Beating a dead horse?

Beating a dead horse?
Hey guys, sorry for asking this again but I need to be sure, I asked it on a previous thread but I think it has been abandoned.
There was a discussion about gears, 3.73's vs. 4.10's and people were leaning towards 3.73's because my 03 (5 speed) GT is a daily driver and I make about 4 trips a year from Montreal to NYC/North Carolina (lots of highway driving/minimum of 7 to 12 hours of highway driving) and I never race on the track. I'm looking for better acceleration and I was wondering if you would recommend 3.90's over the 3.73's.
Thanks in advance and once again, sorry for the repetitive question.

RE: Beating a dead horse?
Thanks guys, I really appreciate the replies and info. 3.73's it is then. Which brings me to my next question, will I notice a considerable change between the stock and the 3.73's, is it worth it to get the mod? I currently have magnaflows cat back and exhaust as well as a k&n filter as far as mods go, will the 3.73's give me a considerable 'kick'?
Thanks again.

RE: Beating a dead horse?
That's my concern, spending that much money for a minor noticeable change... I'm beginning to think 3.90's... the difference between 3.90's and 3.73's can't be all that much regarding engine reving in 5th gear can it? But I'm sure the kick is considerable different from stock 3.27 to 3.90. Thoughts?
PS. I don't personally know anyone with a GT Mustang, let alone someone who has done gear mods... wish I did, it would definitely help.
Thanks.

Then go 3.90's then.
I'm telling you, from what you told us about your driving habits, you will not like the 4.10's in your car.
Just ask HotRodMan....he ripped his out for 3.73's after a few weeks!

RE: Beating a dead horse?
4.10s are way to steep, for pretty much any car that doesnt have some wider tires. After getting the 3.73s im thinking of going nitto drag radials just to keep up. Complete burnout in 1st, and capable of breakin them loose in 2nd while in gear atm.
I cant imagine 4.10s. Would be spinning constantly all the way thru 2nd.
Whats the point of the steeper gears unless you can hook up? Most of my races are stoplight to stoplight. At the same time, on the highway im still doing ok. Not great milage, like 18mpg, but I can still run 70-80 mph with no problem.
