now wait a minute.... how does she run now? I have a 97 with 110000 on it and I'm gonna do some tinkering with it because it runs great and the compression is good.

What's the overal condition of the vehicle? If you really like the car, I wouldn't take the mods too much more beyond simple induction and exhaust. This may be a good base vehicle to swap in an engine (and maybe trans) out of a newer stang

+1... If you really like the car and it runs good then it has potential. But like George said, an engine swap could be an option in the near future...

thank yoU!!

I wouldn't stress that engine out much. I know that these modular ford engines last for a looooooong time in stock form, but modifying them nullifies that.

Just do a compression test when the engine is luke warm and see what you get. I did that to my 97 and it got 150psi just about all round +/-5 psi, which is good.

What is the condition?? Try to give us some pix... the reason I'm working on my car is because it is almost mint inside, got leather everything it's very nice

Yeah, if that's the case, take care of it and do some things here and there! The potential is there, go with it!

Doing mods to it is fine; beating the crap out of it, however, is not.

Modifying it and not changing your driving habits will not decrease the life. You are making the engine more efficient.

what do you guys consider driving it hard? I'll floor it maybe once a day through 1 gear or so, mind you I have an auto. But otherwise im nice on it. Only when I see a hot girl do or another sports car do I hit it.

you're fine, guess what you are normal. Beating on it is like every time you get a green light your foot is to the floor, or you slam the brakes all the time, or you try to manually shift it an dhold the gears for ungodly amounts of time..

you should be fine, just keep up on the oil changes and such
