I did mine w/out the tool. All you need to do is pull the plastic clips off of the lines, GENTLY pull the lines off the nipples (beware of spillage, gas WILL come out), change filter, reconnect lines, add new clips, done.

Just a heads up on the filter though, you might have to actually unbolt the fuel filter bracket in order to get the filter out. I had to on my 96 Snake.

I asked for one at autozone, they gave me a pkg. w/ six different tools, the second from the smallest was a 3/8 and it worked very simple.( couyld not believe I had to pay 10 bucks for six plastic tools to get the one little plastic tool I needed). but gotta have it.

The reason you could do it is becuase you have a different type of connection there are two types: metal (you NEED the tool) and just rubber, yours was rubber.

+1

This is the kit you need for your ford.

BTW, you can also use it for the a/c lines, if you ever need to remove them. Then again, why would you want to remove them? Oh well, thats how I looked at it anyway.

yeah that six bit set is on the expensive side but it's ooo so neccessary. I use it on fuel lines all over the place, and I work on a/c systems too and it works on those quick disconnect fittings too!!

I just found out how easy my fuel filter is to get at, I think I may replace it while I have my car's instestines out next week
