Are you sure the 96-98 had a t-5? I thought it was a 45 just like the 99+

You don't want a t-45

Is your trans going out?

ehh naw, im just looking ahead to the future, the 4R70W and my car only has 67k, im looking into swapping it to a manual if my tranny goes out, idk how long they last. Or maybe ill swap it for pure enjoyment. Not sure, but what should I tell them? Will a 3650 fit?

It will take alot of work either way, but swapping in the T-45 is like intentionally getting a splinter

If you really intend on doing this just sell the car now and get a stick before you sink alot of mods in it. Will be cheaper/better in the end.

then maybe ill stay auto, I mean there is a guide on how to do it. I do know a mechanic who will help me for free, and the car is in such good condition. I really want a stick, but maybe ill just have to do 4.10s shift kit, tranny cooler? and maybe a stall convertor? I really would like stick though [:@]

I would mod the auto and then spend the rest of hte money it would cost for the swap on aftermarket parts.

This is one point on autos I will concede. It is cheaper to mod a auto up than swap it to a stick and mod it up.

thanks for your help dude. I've been trying different things, I can actually race from a roll with my auto. I just put it in 2nd, went from 50mph, was able to pull ahead of an Alfa Romeo 164s, it puts out about the same power as a 99-04 V6 mustang, but its lighter. By the time he shifted from 2nd to 3rd he told me then I started to pull away. And when I got into my 3rd, it was done, I could see his tailights in my mirror. altho it was only a V6, it was still a modded car, keep it mind I have an NPI GT bone stock as of now, im looking to spend money and I'm just researching my options. But anyway, thanks dude for your input. But what would you do to the auto to help any racing from a roll I might do? Manually shifting it helps, looking for any other advice, b/c I know I could take a lot of people from a dig.

t-45 and tr-3650 both have week points in them so if you want something good then go with a tko product
