Qs about I.M. refund / dealership inspection
I ordered the intake manifold with the aluminum crossbar a few weeks ago, and was supposed to install it this past weekend with my friend.
well, it rained. so we couldn't do it. my friend is the mechanic, i was just going to help.. (it's my car, though).
so i started to worry about missing the deadline for the refund, so i got it installed at a shop for $300. They wanted to charge me $450, but I convinced them to do it for $300.
anyway, they did it and everything seems fine EXCEPT they said the brackett that holds the radiator or alternator or something doesn't line up with this I-Mani.
SO here's my questions: what do the dealers inspect? I mean, they can clearly see the aluminum in like 5 seconds. Yet, I hear (or is this false?) that they take a few hours inspecting your vehicle. Will they trip about the bracket?
I spent $500 out of my own pocket, and risked my car (mechanics could have easily messed something up).. not getting that refund would really SUCK.
so any advice? Or could I get a brackett somewhere (like autozone) and easily change it? Or do you think the dealership won't care? Or what?
THANKS for any and all advice.
