I usually rev up to about 3000 rpms or so. That z28 is going to tear you up though =/

RE: Question about my Launch ...
The z28 has a 5.7L and the GT only has a 4.6L. I am not 100% sure but I want to say the LS1 z28s are doing 310HP? I could very well be wrong on that and I think the SS was towards 350-360hp. Stock for stock the z28 is going to take the GT obviously and it all comes down to taste and money in the end. Yea the Z28 is Chevy's competetion for the GT and it out performs the GT but over all I guess Mustangs were outselling them I would assume mainly because of the vast amount of little girls havign daddy buy them a v6 convertable stang =/

Whataya know! I have a 2003 Manual Mustang GT as well...
Lol, yeah...the traction control always gets me too...
Well, if you start at 2500 rpms you'll probably lose traction anyway. If you feel it give, just lighten up (but don't release) the gas...it'll hook again. It takes a little while to get used to.
Stock against stock, a Z28 Camaro will beat a GT Mustang. 4.10 gears will make them cry...I'm getting mine in tomorrow. Don't be intimidated by Camaros, they're faster, but more expensive (comparing same years)...and are not as fun to drive in my personal opinion. Gears for $400 will keep you up with Z28's, turbocharged cars, 350z's, etc.

RE: Question about my Launch ...
The traction control will cause bogging if left on. Turn it off....as you have already been told. But I have bogged the motor with the tracton control off when leaving the line. If the tires bite real hard the motor will want to bog. It is finding that fine line between the bog and the tire spin that takes skill. Your first pass of the nite is usually not your best because you make (or atleast should) make changes to the way you launch based on the previous launch. You bogged last time rev up a couple hundred more, broke traction? rev down a bit.
As for street launching it is hit or miss. I usually leave at about 2400rpm sometimes I spin and somtimes it launches hard. Hit or miss. Just practice practice practice. Perferably not in busy areas and not in traffic.

RE: Question about my Launch ...
Probably like a possi lock device that uses a piston to lock both axles together when it is on and with it off it acts like a regular axle.
That would be most affective for PEG LEG style rear ends(you know when only one tire spins not the other) and rear ends that have the clutch discs worn out in the possi. But on todays mustangs the possi trac is much better and a locking rearend is not needed.

for your 03 GT, 4.10 gears will probably let you at least run close to LS1's. For a pre 99, you'll need lots more.
