The traction control will cause bogging if left on. Turn it off....as you have already been told. But I have bogged the motor with the tracton control off when leaving the line. If the tires bite real hard the motor will want to bog. It is finding that fine line between the bog and the tire spin that takes skill. Your first pass of the nite is usually not your best because you make (or atleast should) make changes to the way you launch based on the previous launch. You bogged last time rev up a couple hundred more, broke traction? rev down a bit.
As for street launching it is hit or miss. I usually leave at about 2400rpm sometimes I spin and somtimes it launches hard. Hit or miss. Just practice practice practice. Perferably not in busy areas and not in traffic.

RE: Question about my Launch ...
No i got a buddy who's mechanic does nice work realy cheap so I am going to have him do the gears, weld the exhaust system so i can loose the clamps and install the speed cal unit.
You got all the tools you need? You are going to need about 20inches of extension and a swivel joint.
