most shift ***** don't actually have threads at all.

just a vynil insert that the threads on the shifeter threads into.....that's why when you take your stock one out you get all those little white flakes.

and also why you don't want to remove a **** and reinstall it too often.

I will warn you about that shift ****. I thought it looked really cool and actually got it for Christmas as a present. It is not very comfortable in your hand to say the least. It is a very hard material that has no rubber cushioning like most ***** do so it does not feel good in your hand when shifting. Also, when it gets really hot or cold outside, so does the ****. I put mine on after Christmas and in the mornings the **** was so cold I had trouble shifting because it hurt my hand it was so cold. I sent it back less than a week later and got a steeda silver **** instead. I would recommend that **** instead. The only problem with it is the top scratches and dents easily if you wear any rings. I wear my college ring and it dents the top if I hit it even lightly with the ring.
