Vortech chargers which one do i want?

Alright this is from the shop near me that i would have install it. this is what i found on there site. Out of these what would be the best set up for me? I mean which one of these would i want to buy. that would offer me the best deal and performance? Im not sure what i would want b/c some come with everythning and some are by them selves i dont know. So help me out and let me know what you would get for a 99Gt auto.

Thanks guys
If I were you and I was not confident in doing the install myself I would ask your local shop what they would charge to put on a MPH kit. I cannot say enough about the tune I got from MPH. I don't think you are gonna get as good a tune from almost anywhere else as you will from MPH. This guy just straight up knows the modular cars. He is extremely helpful, and backs up everything he sells.

He was able to get my tune DEAD on without ever seeing the freaking car! This is on a fairly complicated tune, due to the camshafts and their effect on the boost etc. MPH and tim in particular was able to set up everything to work perfectly together.

BTW the install wasn't that bad. Its too bad you are in OR, cause I would let ya bring it over and we could install it in the garage. After doing one I am pretty sure I could do it agian in less than a day. Anyone that has a decent amount of mechanical knowledge and a good set of tools should be able to do it.

Where are you located. I know MPH is in GA so you can't be too far from there. I am looking at the exact same kit you got and if someone close has the knowledge and resources to help me self install then that would be awesome. I am in the upstate (Anderson) SC.

I'm about an hour from Marietta. I thought you went to MPH to get your tune but I assume you did most of it over the phone now that I know where you are located. It was worth a try, LOL.

FWIW, I called a shop ini IL (Chicago burbs) today and talked to them about boosting my 2000GT. A ProCharger installed, dyno'd, tuned, everything they feel is needed for the install to be right will run $5-$6000. He didnt want to quote me more specific cuz all of the techs are down in TX at a race this weekend. I'm not sure what the price difference is between a ProCharger and a KB but I was under the impression that the KB was a little more mula.

So, the obvious follow-up question was a twin-turbo quote. To do it right, with engine mods and what not, he shot out a narrow range of $15-$20,000 for one of their custom setups. He said he could throw something together for less but he prefers to do things "the right way". After explaining my goals and objectives, he agreed that I was nowhere near the team picture for the kind of setup he was quoting. Obviously.

I hope that gives some sort of idea of what you're considering and remember, bolting the s/c to your stang is only half the battle...getting it tuned and the suspension in order should be item 1a after the KB and before any serious throttle is applied.

BTW, I got an A- in this last class so I dropped to a 3.93 [:'(] I told myself that I didn't care and will still have my blower by mid-summer.

Your shop is raping you on the turbo setup. MPH will set you up at like 8600 complete, installed and tuned. Even the race kit is like 9500. Here is the link to their 2 setups:

The procharger stuff seems a bit high, unless they are right at the 5000 dollar mark. I wouldn't pay much more than that for install and tune.

BTW ibeeskeef, when I ment the tune was dead on I ment it. They send ya a Xcal2 as part of the kit, with the custom tune on it, and you can adjust the fuel etc if you need to. I never even took the xcal outta the box when I got to the dyno. the tune was perfect outta the box

wow! Freeunit...that's really all I can say lol. If you pull this off that's pretty respectable. Just remember if you're choosing between a vortech (arguably the best centrifigural on the market) and a kb (pretty much THE best twinscrew on the market) you really can't go wrong can you? Personally if I was in your position right now I would get the vortech because like 2000GT said it's cheaper and then you can get more support mods. Plus I think it would even cheaper because (now please correct me in a nice way if I am wrong) I think you'll need a new hood with a kb. Not too mention it's fun on the street and you'll own at the track. Good luck to ya and keep it goin man.

Wow! Turbo and a complete rebuild with forged internals and suspension work for $8600!

Almost too hard to believe...
