Default Converting From 8 coil to 2 coil ignition

What would be needed to swap put my current 8 coil on plug system in my 01 GT to a 2 coil system like on the DOHC engines? I want to go with an aftermarket ignition system and would like to swap to the 2 coil system. Thanks

Why would you want to do that, and have a chance of leakage with wires. Why not Granatelli Racing, they have high voltage coils (8) for $300. There are also piggy back boosters available. Coil on plug is the way to go, I'm waiting for MSD to come out with a multiple spark pack for coil on plug.

exactly, the whole reason ford changed to that was because it was better. There are performance versions available.

It is easier to add an aftermarket ignition with just 2 coils. I am adding the MSD DIS4 ignition but because of it having coil on plugs, I have to use 2 DIS4 boxes and 4 Tach adaptors. I have all the parts but there is not a lot of room to add all 6 parts.
