Default Your Ideal supercharged 4.6. Input wanted.

I'm currently going to rebuild a 4.6 engine that came out of a 1998 Mustang GT with an Auto Tranny. It will be going back in with a Vortech V-1 Super Charger. Was wanting input on what would be the ideal set up and parts to put on this puppy before I go back in with it. I'm refering to Pistons, Cams, Headers, Intake, Oil Pan and such. I have a set of 2001 PI heads for it now waiting to go to the Machine shope for a re-work. Besides that and the Super Charger that is all I have for it right now.
I mainly just want to play with it on the weekends and drive it on nice day's when I want to melt some rubber.
Give me your ideas on what the perfect set up would be for this 4.6 project with the Vortech on it.

Thanks!

what kind of tranny you putting in? also, don't forget your rear end. if you're really building that thing up for power, that stock rear end is going to easily snap.

well, if you are going the PI route and also want to have a blower... think about dished pistons and a thicker head gasket. These will drop your compression ratio so you can safely run boost, and run more boost if you want.

18cc dished pistons ( I ran Probe in our S/C GT), forged rods (I like Manley's), forged 8 bolt crank, good set of LT's and if you want to spend big $$, a Reichard Racing intake with your choice of either cobra style TB or single butterfly TB, 42# injectors, Anderson Power pipe, Lightning 90mm MAF.

For heads, that's up to you...but I made over 470rwhp with stock PI cams and very mild P&P work.

+1.

And you said that you made that 470 on stock manifolds!!

Ported heads and vt stage 2 blower cams for the win, along with a forged bottom end.

I talked to code about his wife's car a while back and I believe they were running 14psi on a non-intercooled or aftercooled vortech.
