I have a 96 GT and would like to relocate the driver seat, back 2-3 inches. Has anyone done this mod? Any suggestions?

My 69 Mach 1 now has 04 GT seats relocated 2 inches. That was an easy mod.

I would think you could just drill new holes and put the seat back on, but that might be too easy of a solution...

 

i did the one that mustangworld talks about. i'm 6'1, and my knees used to be pretty scrunched up. once i did this to my drivers seat, it made the perfect amount of legroom for me. you have to take the whole seat out, unbolt the seat from the tracks, and make new holes in the track about an inch or so back. then, on the bottom of the seat, there are multiple holes there, and you just tap one of them using one of the seat bolts, and you have about 2 inches + more legroom.

 

i'm 6'3" and i have no problems on my 00.

Nothing like the stock legroom on a '69-'70 Mach I, huh? I can knock the seat back far enough on my MACH whereby I can't depress the clutch and I'm 6'2".
