FORD Found On Road Dead
I was cruising at 55 yesterday when my tach dropped off. I pulled over and now she won't start. Sounded like a fuel pump to me. 2004 Mustang GT. Had them tow it straight to ford. Then they tried to screw me and charge me for a diagnostics test. The thing is still under a new car warranty. Lesson 1: Watch ford like a hawk or they will screw you. LOL. Once I hear from them what the problem is I will post.

Hey man sorry to hear that. If your dealer is an ***, dump them. My present dealer is awesome, I put an x-pipe on recently and one of my O2 sensors was stripped due to a tech cross threading it when replacing my stock H pipe. Gave me a new one no questions asked.
They have been interested in my mods, three techs went out to check out my headers. And The parts guy is older, has a '99 Gt, and gives me wholesale on OEM parts. Had my Mach I grille and spoiler, in two days, no backorder BS, and I got them at Ford wholesale. My last dealer in CT was also awesome, bought my '04 GT with 4500 miles for 17K, a year ago, treated me right in service too. Some dealers take the customer satisfaction deal seriously. My old dealer was huge, this one small, it's all about those guys across the counter, try another place.

My dealer is right in the middle. I primarily go to them for parts, and so far the parts service is excellent, a tid bit pricey but they always get it and quick. Haven't had them service my car yet... and I won't if I don't have to

RE: FORD Found On Road Dead
It Just dropped off. It is a manual and there is like 16,000- 17,000 miles on it. My dealer called me today and said they can't look at it until tomorrow. He said he noticed alot of aftermarket parts on it and if they caused it they will not cover the repairs. I am pretty sure it is a fuel pump issue though. Besides the SCT tune from MD Motorsports in cincinnati I can't think of an aftermarket part that would cause a fuel pump to go out. I did tune it back to stock before it got to ford though.

yep, they are prolly gonna screw you sideways...
The dealorship MUST PROVE that the aftermarket product CAUSED the problem though....im sur eyou know that already though, but make sure you get documentation stating that they wont fix it b/c of whatever, or that they WILL fix it...cause im sure they will try to screw you one way or another...
And if the aftermarket stuff DID IN FACT cause your problem, i would contact the after market producer and tell them about it...

RE: FORD Found On Road Dead
ok several things. Did you hit a bump when it died? We had a little ford come in (escort or something ) to my work for a no start. The guy said he hit a bump and it died, and I pushed the safety cutoff in the trunk bam ran fine.
Also, what kind of mods do you have done to your car? Is it mostly induction/exhaust stuff? None of that can really hurt an engine. All it will do is up the flow, improving the engine's performance.
Just follow what they are doing closely and get documentation on everything

It takes a pretty good hit to get the fuel pump safety to engage. As for fix or repair daily, I've had new ones since 1978, I haven't walked yet! I can't say the same about the Chrysler or GM's I've owned. I've had problems, all but one did I have repeat trips back to the dealer with, ('04 F-150) Ford bought it back! They solved the problem on them later, binding park brake causing shudder. I learned a lesson, never buy a first year model! I could have gotten a brand new '05 Mustang, not in your life! Not for a few years of production.
BTW, I don't like drive by wire, throttles. Many times the computer will tell you NO, when you pound the gas.
